Head coach Kari Eckheart and the Gustavus volleyball swept the University of Dubuque and Cornell College 3-0 to conclude the MIAC-IIAC Border Battle with a 4-0 record in Mount Vernon, Iowa. The Gusties defeated Dubuque by the scores of 26-24, 25-7, 25-18 and Cornell 25-21, 25-15, 25-10. Libero Emily Klein (Sr., Red Wing, Minn.) was named to the eight-member all-tournament team as Gustavus improved to 20-3 overall.

Against Cornell, the Gustie hitters were efficient as they compiled 37 kills and just four errors to hit .386 including hitting percentages over .400 in the first two sets. Meghan Gehring (Jr., Eau Claire, Wis.) reached double-digit kills at 11, while Olivia Warren (Fy., Goodhue, Minn.) finished with nine. Gehring also recorded two solo blocks and three block assists as Gustavus outblocked Cornell 6-3. Bridget Burtzel (Sr., Cold Spring, Minn.) distributed 29 assists and Klein registered 13 digs in the victory.

Gustavus returns to MIAC competition Wednesday against St. Catherine in St. Paul at 7 p.m.
