The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has recently named Gustavus Adolphus College women’s tennis player Jenni White (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) the ITA Central Region Senior Player of the Year. White played in the top spot for the Gusties this season, as the team went 25-9 and finished fifth at the NCAA Team Championships in St. Peter.
This season, the senior helped Gustavus win its 17h straight MIAC title and earn its 12th consecutive trip to the NCAA quarterfinals. White compiled a record of 27-13 during the 2007-08 campaign and won the ITA Midwest Regional Invitational this fall. White went on to finish sixth at the ITA Small College Championships, and was recently defeated in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championships by fourth-seed Brittany Berckes.
An equally accomplished doubles player, White and teammate Sierra Krebsbach, won the ITA Midwest Regional Invitational and finished third at the ITA Small College Championships. White and Krebsbach were knocked out of the first round of the NCAA Doubles Championships by defending national champions Brittany Berckes and Alicia Menezes.
