Kaelene Lundstrum
Gustavus sophomore Kaelene Lundstrum scored 2,791 points and is in first place after the first day of the MIAC Heptathlon which is being held at Carleton College in Northfield. Lundstrum leads Leah Kay of Concordia by 161 points.
Lundstrum finished first in the 100 meter hurdles (16.22) and first in the high jump (5-3 1/4) and posted second place finishes in the shot put (38-11 3/4) and 200 meter dash (27.1).
On the second day, Lundstrum will compete in the long jump, the javelin, and the 800 meter run.
Lundstrum’s place in the heptathlon will count towards the Gusties totals at the MIAC Outdoor Championships which will take place next Friday and Saturday at Hamline University.
