The third-seed Bethel Royals and the fourth-seed St. Thomas Tommies advanced to the semifinal round of the MIAC Men’s Tennis Playoffs on Friday at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter. The Royals defeated the sixth-seed St. Olaf Oles 6-0, while the Tommies defeated the fifth-seed Saint John’s Johnnies 5-1.
Since the top seeds advanced after day one of the playoffs, top-seeded Gustavus will face St. Thomas and second-seeded Carleton will face Bethel. If play is held outdoors, matches will begin at 9 a.m. However, if play is held indoors due to weather, matches will begin at 1 p.m. The semifinal winners will square off at 2 p.m. if outdoors or at 6:30 p.m. if indoors. The champion will receive the MIAC’s automatic bid into the NCAA Championships.
