Men’s Tennis Falls to Azusa Pacific 7-2 Posted on March 29th, 2008 by

The Gustavus men’s tennis team wrapped up its spring break trip to Southern California with a 7-2 loss to Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California on Friday evening. Azusa Pacific is currently ranked #2 in the NAIA national poll. The Gusties are now 18-5 on the season.

The Gusties opened the match by winning two of three doubles matches, but they were not able to keep up the pace in singles play where Azusa Pacific won all six matches. Andy Bryan at #1 singles and Charlie Paukert at #4 singles suffered hard-fought three set matches.

Gustavus returns to action on Saturday, April 5 with a home match against the Minnesota State University, Mankato at 9:00 am.
