D3hoops.com released its 2007-08 All-Region team and senior guard Jess Vadnais (Hudson, Wis.) was named to the West Region First Team for the second consecutive season. Vadnais was a key member of a Gustavus team that posted an 18-10 record and participated in the NCAA Tournament.
Vadnais, a three-time All-MIAC selection and last year’s MIAC Player of the Year, was one of ten finalists for the 2007-08 Josten’s Division III Player of the Year Award. She led the conference in scoring at 19.2 points per game and broke the school record for points in a season with 535 points. She graduated as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,778 points and holds the school records for career steals with 223 and three-point field goals with 210. She is the only player in the program’s history to compile 1,000 points, 300 assists, and 200 steals. Off the court, Vadnais has compiled a 3.25 grade point average with a major in health fitness and is a CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honoree.
Vadnais has also been named a finalist for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)/Kodak All-America team, which will be announced later this week.
