Vadnais Named To D3hoops.com National Team Of The Week

Gustavus Adolphus senior guard Jess Vadnais (Hudson, Wis.) has been named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for the week ending February 17, 2008. Vadnais averaged 24 points, 5.5 rebounds, and four steals per contest to help the Gusties finish the week 2-0 and get sole possession of third place in the MIAC standings.

Vadnais scored 20 of her 25 points in the second half in a 76-67 win over Concordia-Moorhead as both squads were tied at third place in the standings. In Gustavus’ come-from-behind 71-66 victory against St. Olaf on Saturday, she scored a game-high 23 points, including 14 in the second half.

This marks the second time the season Vadnais has been named to the D3hoops.com National Team Of The Week. She was also named to the team for the week ending January 27, 2008.

Vadnais, a health fitness major, is the daughter of Jerry and Jeanne Hautala of Hudson, Wis. and a 2004 graduate of Hudson High School.

Gustavus, which is 17-7 overall and 16-5 in the MIAC, will conclude the regular season against Carleton on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in St. Peter.
