Women’s Golf Remains in Second Place After Second Day of MIAC Championships Posted on October 8th, 2007 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team dropped two shots to defending champion on the second day of the MIAC Championships, but still remain very much in contention for the league title. The Gusties (326-318–644) trail the Tommies (322-316–638) by six shots heading into the final day. The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Monday at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

Gustavus is being led individually by Rachel Roberg, who is currently in third place with a 36-hole total of 81-79–160. Laura Heck of St. Thomas is in first place with a score of 76-77-153. Other scores for Gustavus include Kali Griggs in a tie for fourth place at 81-80–161, Kimbra Kosak in a tie for eighth place at 86-78–164, Amanda Johnson is also in a tie for eighth place at 83-81-164, and Katie Schenfield is in a tie for 12th place at 81-86–167.

The Gusties will need to post a low score in the final round on Monday at Bunker Hills Golf Course. Coach Scott Moe’s squad will need to best rival St. Thomas by scoring seven shots under what the Tommies post.
