Gustavus women’s basketball player Jess Vadnais has been named to the d3hoops.com National Team of the Week for her performances at the Colorado College Invitational last weekend where she helped the Gus46-30ties win the tournament title. Vadnais was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Vadnais, a junior from Hudson, Wisconsin, has started her season in impressive fashion as she scored 21 points in the Gusties win over Wartburg last Tuesday, and then contributed 22 points in a 74-46 win over Marian and 26 points in a 73-61 win over Colorado College in Colorado Springs.

Vadnais, who ranks fourth all-time at Gustavus in career three-point field goals made with 104, made her 100th career trey against Colorado College last Saturday. She currently leads the team in scoring with an average of 19.8 points per game through four games.

Gustavus is currently 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC heading into a conference game against Augsburg on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. The Gusties opened league play with a 46-30 win over Macalester on Wednesday evening at Gus Young Court.
