Men’s Golf Struggles During First Day of NCAA Championship

The Gustavus men’s golf team got off to a rocky start at the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships as the team shot a disappointing team score of 320 (+36) and sits in 18th place out of 23 teams. The four-day tournament is being played at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Gustavus individual scores on the first day included Clayton Johnson with a 77 (+7), Erik Tone with a 80 (+9), Mark Stuckey with a 80 (+9), Jordan Hawkinson with a 83 (+12), and Jon Hagedorn with a 86 (+15).

Guilford College leads the tournament with a first day total of 299 (+15).

Gustavus which teed off at 12:00 pm on Monday will tee off beginning at 8:20 on Tuesday.
