Shanna Dawson has been named MIAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore jumper/vaulter Shanna Dawson (Fairmont, Minn.) has been named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 30, 2006. Dawson met an NCAA national provisional mark in the pole vault at the Drake Alternative Meet hosted by Gustavus last Saturday. Her mark of 3.45 meters (11′ 3 3/4″) ranks her first in the MIAC.
Dawson also has season highs of 5.09 meters (16′ 8 1/2″) in the long jump and 10.61 meters (34′ 9 3/4″) in the triple jump.
