Softball Team Sweeps St. Olaf

The Gustavus women's softball team swept St. Olaf 8-2 and 12-2 on Tuesday afternoon in Northfield. Centerfielder Mary Furlong led the Gusties as she went 5-for-8 at the plate and scored four runs.

DeWitz Named MIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus College softball player Joyce DeWitz (Good Thunder, Minn.) has been named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 2, 2006. DeWitz, a junior, compiled a 4-1 record with a earned run average of 0.93 as she allowed 17 hits and four earned runs in 30.2 innings of work while striking out 30 and walking 15.

Baseball Game Against Bethany Lutheran Postponed Until Monday, April 17

Due to questionable field conditions at Myrum Memorial Field in St. Peter, the Gustavus Adolphus/Bethany Lutheran baseball game originally scheduled for Sunday, April 2 and rescheduled for Monday, April 3 has been postponed until Monday, April 17 at 3 p.m. The site of the game has not changed.

Men’s Tennis Team Loses to Azusa Pacific 7-2

The Gustavus men's tennis team closed out its spring break trip to Southern California with a 7-2 loss to Azusa Pacific. Adam Morgan claimed the lone singles win for the Gusties as he defeated Boris Bakalov 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 at the #1 position. Gustavus posted a mark of 3-1 in four matches over spring break.

Softball Team Splits MIAC Doubleheader with Augsburg

The Gustavus softball team opened MIAC play by splitting a doubleheader with Augsburg in Minneapolis on Saturday afternoon. Augsburg defeated the Gusties 1-0 in game one, however Gustavus rallied to win game two 4-3.
