Gustavus swimmers Scott Hagemeyer (Jr., Willmar, Minn.) and Sara Pfau (So., Bismarck, N.D.) are among four individuals and three relays that have posted MIAC-best times in the pool so far this season. Hagemeyer has the fastest times in the 50 free (21.28 seconds) and 100 free (46.35 seconds), while Pfau owns the top times so far in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.64) and 200 individual medley (2:16.83).
On the men’s side, Ben Hanson (So., Minnetonka, Minn.) has the fastest 1000 free time of the season at 9:46.14, while Matt Stewart (Fr., Burnsville, Minn.) swam the fastest 200 butterfly in the MIAC this season last weekend at Carleton (1:56.80).
Two men’s relays and one women’s relay have also posted top MIAC clockings so far this season. The men’s 200 free relay team of Hagemeyer, Clement Auyeung (Fr., North Mankato, Minn.), Tyler Wakefield (Fr., Hutchinson, Minn.) and Brian Amundson (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) (1:26.04) and the 400 free relay team of Amundson, Dave Pearson (Fr., Woodbury, Minn.), Hanson and Hagemeyer (3:10.04) both posted their top times at the Carthage Invite in early December. The women’s 400 medley team of Katherine Haynes (Sr., Duluth, Minn.), Pfau, Yoshi Ludwig (Jr., St. Peter, Minn.) and Laura Watkins (Jr., Fargo, N.D.) posted their top time of 4:07.52 in a dual with St. Olaf.
