First-years Liz Haakenson (Moorhead, Minn.) and Brigitte Bartholdi (Cloquet, Minn.) were credited with assists on the play.
With 5:49 gone in the second period, first-year Christine Wicker (Apple Valley, Minn.) deposited the eventual game-winner past Johnson to give the Gusties a 2-0 lead. The Cobbers’ Ceara Bergsrud slipped a puck past Gustavus goalie Kitty Hurley (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) to cut the lead to 2-1, but Concordia would get no closer.
For the game, the Gusties threw 40 shots at Johnson, 14 alone by Peterson. With a league-high 22 third-period goals coming into the game, Gustavus was held scoreless in the final frame for only the second time this season.
