Gustavus Adolphus College junior Hailey Harren (Cold Spring, Minn.) has been named Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Harren won the Saint John’s Invitational cross country meet in a fast 6K time of 22:07. Harren’s time was over one minute better than the second-place finisher, Leah Wurm of the College of Saint Benedict.
Gustavus placed two runners in the top five but could not overcome Wartburg and the College of Saint Benedict. Wartburg placed eight runners in the top 20, outdistancing Saint Benedict in the team race, 32-62. The Gusties finished third with 64 team points.
