Men’s Track & Field Places Seventh at Carleton Relays

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s track and field team recorded 61.3 points to place seventh out of 16 teams at the Carleton Relays on Saturday, April 23 in Northfield, Minn. Gustavus’ Tanner Miest won 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.14.

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s track and field team traveled to Northfield, Minn. on Saturday, April 23 to compete in the Carleton Relays. The Gusties compiled 61.3 points to place seventh out of 16 teams. Saint John’s University placed first with a point total of 146.

Sophomores Tanner Miest (New London, Minn.) and Anthony Schulzetenberg (Greenwald, Minn.) led the Gusties on Saturday. Miest placed first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.14, while Schulzetenber placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.46.

Senior Alex Kestly (Chisolm, Minn.) led Gustavus in the field events. Kestley placed second in the discus with a distance of 154-9. Other top performers were sophomore Andy Klaers (Delano, Minn.), junior Mike Schmidt (Rogers, Minn.) and freshman Drew Hood (Mankato, Minn.). Klaers placed seventh in the hammer throw (155-2), Schmidt placed fifth in the high jump (6-2), and Hood tied for ninth in the pole vault (13-11.75).

Gustavus will return to action Saturday, April 30 when it hosts the Drake Alternative.
