Andrea Peterson Named MIAC Player of the Week in Women’s Hockey

Gustavus sophomore defender Andrea Peterson has been named the Women’s Hockey Player of the Week by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Peterson scored three goals and added two assists to help the Gusties win the MIAC Playoff Championship.

Gustavus sophomore defender Andrea Peterson has been named the Women’s Hockey Player of the Week by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Peterson, a Vadnais Heights, Minn. native, scored three goals and picked up two assists for five points as Gustavus defeated St. Mary’s 5-1 and St. Thomas 3-2 in double overtime to win the MIAC Playoff Championship.

Peterson scored two goals and added two assists in the Gusties 5-1 semifinal win over Saint Mary’s on Thursday and then added one goal in the Gusties win over St. Thomas on Saturday. Peterson’s goal, which came on the power play, tied the game at 2-2 at 7:17 of the third period.
