The Gustavus women’s basketball team posted a 90-76 win over Bethel University on Monday night. Kristin Kachelmyer posted a season-high 27 points and Bri Monahan recorded 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Gusties to a win. Jess Vadnais also posted 14 points for Gustavus. Emily Uzpen led the Royals with 19 points and was one of four Bethel players to record double figures.
Gustavus never trailed in the game and led the Royals 45-36 at halftime. The two teams combined for 56 fouls and 36 turnovers in the game. Gustavus outreboundended Bethel 39-17, which proved to be the difference down the stretch.
With the win, Gustavus improves to 13-7 overall and 11-6 in the MIAC, good for fourth place in the conference. The Gusties will face St. Olaf on Wednesday in a key conference matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Northfield.
