Women’s Nordic Skiing Ends 2005 Season at Regional Championships

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s Nordic ski team ended its season at the CCSA Central Regional Championships on February 19-20. The Gusties compiled 128 team points to place third out of nine teams. The championships were hosted by Michigan Technological Institution at the Tech Trails in Houghton, Michigan.

The Gustavus women’s hockey team had its 33-game MIAC winning streak snapped with a 2-1 loss to St. Thomas at the Tommies rink in Mendota Heights. The Gusties had clinched the MIAC regular season title with a 6-3 win over the Tommies on Friday night.

The Gustavus men’s basketball team advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the fifth consecutive season after beating Saint Thomas 68-58 in the MIAC Championship game in St. Peter Saturday night. Doug Espenson led the Gusties with 30 points.
