Women’s Swimming Falls to Carleton 180-114 Posted on January 15th, 2005 by

The Gustavus women’s swimming team fell to Carleton 180-114 in a conference dual meet on Saturday in St. Peter. The Knights set six pool records and handed the Gusties their second dual meet loss of the season.

The Gusties were led by Eva Miller on Saturday afternoon. Miller won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.02. She also won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:30.04, which is her fastest time of the season. Other winners for Gustavus were Yoshi Ludwig in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:20.76 and Christin Pederson in the 1-meter dive with a score of 156.85.

Katie Garvey recorded two second place finishes on Saturday afternoon. Garvey recorded a time of 1:59.53 in the 200 freestyle and a time of 1:02.21 in the 100 butterfly.

In the relays, the Gusties claimed two second place finishes. In the 400 freestyle relay, the team of Katie Garvey, Laurie Decknatel, Laura Watkins and Beth DeLaRosby recorded a time of 3:41.03. The team of Kari Reed, Natasha Eid, Yoshi Ludwig and Laura Watkins recorded a time of 1:55.71 in the 200 medley relay.

The Gusties will travel to Wisconsin to compete in the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Invitational on January 21-22.
