The Gustavus women’s hockey team completed its weekend sweep of Hamline with an 8-0 win at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. Laura Vanelli led the Gusties in scoring with two goals. Danielle Koopman, who made nine saves picked up the win in the nets.

Gustavus led 3-0 after the first period and 4-0 after two periods before claiming the 8-0 win. Molly Doyle, Tanna Tuomie, and Kelly Crandall scored first period goals for Gustavus. Andrea Peterson scored the lone second period goal. Laura Vannelli (who scored twice), Josefin Petersson and Laura Stypulkowski scored the four third period goals.

The Gusties outshot the Pipers 53-9. Rachael Young recorded 45 saves for Hamline.

With the win, Gustavus improves to 3-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the MIAC. Hamline falls to 0-2-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the MIAC.
