Women’s Soccer Beats Hamline for Second Straight Win

The Gustavus women’s soccer team defeated Hamline 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, gaining their second conference win. Sophomore midfielder Amy Larson scored the unassisted game-winner for the Gusties in the 23rd minute.

Gustavus managed six shots on Hamline’s goal and held the Pipers to only one shot on goal. Sophomore Alison Rethwisch led the Gusties with four shots. Junior Tori Boughton gained the shutout in goal.

Coach Mike Stehlik’s team is now 3-8-1 overall and 2-6-0 in the MIAC. With the loss, Hamline falls to 3-9-1 overall and 1-6-0 in the conference. Gustavus will try to extend their winning streak to three games on Sunday afternoon by taking on Grinnell College at 2:00 p.m. in St. Peter.
