The Gustavus volleyball team pushed its winning streak to eight matches with a perfect 3-0 mark at the Carleton Classic in Northfield. The Gusties beat UW-Oshkosh 3-2, Buena Vista 3-0 and Dubuque 3-0.
Gustavus started the weekend with an impressive 3-2 win over 18th ranked UW-Oshkosh 3-2. The Gusties rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win the match (24-30, 21-30, 30-23, 30-24, 15-13). Tara Houlihan recorded 17 kills and 35 digs, while Rachel Batalden compiled 49 assists.
The Gusties continued their winning ways with a 3-0 win over Buena Vista (30-24, 30-26, 30-28) in the second game on Friday night. Houlihan again led the way with 17 kills and 21 digs, while Batalden contributed 38 assists.
Coach Kari Eckheart’s squad wrapped up the successful weekend with a 3-0 win over the University of Dubuque (30-24, 30-22, 30-26). Anne Osthus recorded 14 kills and Sue Dailey contributed 17 digs.
Tara Houlihan and Anne Osthus were named to the All-Tournament team.
