The Gustavus volleyball team won its first two games on the first day of the six-team Gustavus Classic. The Gusties pushed their win streak to three matches by defeating Viterbo (30-21, 30-21, 30-16) and Martin Luther (30-26, 30-22, 30-26). Coach Kari Eckheart’s squad improved to 5-3 on the season. Against Viterbo, the Gusties were led by Anne Osthus with 13 kills, Rachel Batalden with 45 assists and Jenni Tischer with nine digs. Against Martin Luther, Gustavus was again led on the attack by Osthus, this time with 13 kills. Rachel Batalden contributed 34 assists and Sue Dailey recorded 20 digs.
