Men’s Soccer Opens with 5-0 Win Over Viterbo Posted on September 1st, 2004 by

The Gustavus men’s soccer team opened its 2004 season with a convincing 5-0 win over Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Five different players scored for Gustavus. The Gusties will now travel to Tacoma, Washington to take part in the Puget Sound Invitational this Saturday and Sunday.

The Gustavus goals were scored by Taylor Stein (38 minute mark), Jordan Iblings (44 minute mark), Caleb Bousu (55 minute mark), Christopher Pinahs (69 minute mark) and Mike Butterworth (90 minute mark). Pinahs and Butterworth both collected the first goals of their collegiate careers. Andy Moulton recorded the shutout for Gustavus.

The Gusties will next face Pacific Lutheran University on Saturday and the University of Puget Sound on Sunday. Both games will be played on the Puget Sound campus.
