Jackie Luehmann Places Second in Shot Put at National Championships

Gustavus Adolphus College senior Jackie Luehmann placed second in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Luehmann threw a distance of 46-6 3/4 to earn All-America honors for the sixth time of her college career.

Gustavus Adolphus College senior Jackie Luehmann (Lewiston, Minn.) earned her sixth career All-America honor with a second place finish in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Championships. The championships took place May 27-29 at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.

In her fourth consecutive appearance in the national championships, Luehmann finished second with a distance of 46-6 3/4. A third place performance in 2001 was her best finish prior to this year’s achievement. Luehmann, a four-time Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference outdoor shot put champion, helped Gustavus to a 16th place finish with 18 points, which is the most points and best finish by a Gustavus women’s track and field team at the NCAA Championships
