Rough First Day For Men’s Tennis at Individual Tournament Posted on May 15th, 2004 by

It was a rough first day for the Gusties at the NCAA singles and doubles tournaments as Loren Collins and Adam Morgan and Brett Morse-Karzen were upset in the first round.

Collins, who was the #3 seed in the singles tournament, lost to JR Hall of Pomona-Pitzer 1-6, 6-2, 4-6.

Adam Morgan and Brett Morse-Karzen, who were seeded #3 in the doubles tournament, lost to Brunner and Ali-Christie of UC-Santa Cruz, 3-6, 4-6.

The doubles team of Loren Collins and Ben Lundell, which got into the tournament at the very last minute as an alternate, won the first set against Taylor and Farouk of Washington College (Md.) 6-1. Collins and Lundell were trailing in the second set 4-3 when the match was halted due to lightning. Play will resume at 9:00 am on Sunday morning.
