Bryant Rogness Named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Hitter of the Week Posted on May 12th, 2004 by

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Division III National Hitter and Pitcher of the Week awards for the period ending May 9.

Bryant Rogness of Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) was named National
Hitter of the Week, while Dale Koler of Baldwin-Wallace College (Ohio) was
named National Pitcher of the Week. The NCBWA reviews candidates from Division III conferences each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season.

Rogness compiled a batting average of .688, a slugging percentage of 1.000
and an on-base percentage of .684 last week. The senior second baseman recorded 11 hits in 16 at-bats, scored 10 runs and drove in six runs. Rogness went six-for-eight at the plate (with three doubles), scored seven runs and drove in three runs in the sweep over Hamline (Minn.). He went 5-for-8 (with two doubles), scored three runs and drove in three runs against Carlton (Minn.). Rogness was also perfect in the field for the week with four putouts, five assists and no errors. He also was named Hitter of the Week by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
