The Gustavus men’s golf team shot a sizzling team score of 280 in the second round of the day and is in first place after 36-holes of the 54-hole Gustavus Spring Classic. The tournament wraps up tomorrow at the Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, Minn. Gustavus holds a 14-shot lead over second place UW-Eau Claire and a 19-shot lead over third place Saint John’s.
The Gusties Luke Benoit is in first place individually with a 36-hole total of 72-66-138 (-2). His four-under par round of 66 in the afternoon at the LeSueur Country Club is the second lowest 18-hole score in the history of the men’s golf program.
