Parker, Erickson Earn All-America Honors Posted on April 3rd, 2004 by

Amanda Parker and Ashley Erickson earned All-America honors in the individual event championships at the NCGA Division III National Meet taking place in Boston, Massachusetts.

Parker finished sixth on the balance beam and Erickson placed third on the uneven bars. Parker, who compiled a score of 9.50 on the beam on Friday, added a score of 9.625 on Saturday for a total of 19.125. Erickson posted a 9.425 Friday and then added a school record score of 9.75 on the bars Saturday.

Erickson’s 9.75 score ties the all-time best score in school history in any event and the first time it has been accomplished on the uneven bars. Katie Kortuem scored a 9.75 on the balance beam in 1999 and Amanda Parker did the same on the vault last year.

Parker and Erickson earn All-America honors by virtue of finishing in the top six in an individual event final at the national meet.
