The Gustavus women’s softball team will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to participate in the Simpson College Softball Classic March 20-21. The classic was moved to Cedar Rapids due to 16 inches of snow that Indianola, Iowa received earlier this week.

The Gustavus men’s swimming team will take part in the NCAA Division III Championships this Thursday through Saturday in St. Louis, Missouri. The Gusties will be sending eight swimmers to the meet which is the largest group in the program’s history.

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced the 2004 women’s hockey awards in the past week and Gustavus figured prominently in the awards. Head coach Mike Carroll was named Co-coach of the Year.

Jackie Luehmann Places Third in Shot Put in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

Gutavus Adolphus senior Jackie Luehmann placed third in the shot put throwing a distance of 47′ 2.5″ in the 2004 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. The championships were held at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater March 12-13.

The Gustavus women’s swimming team scored a school record 82 points and finished 13th for the program’s best ever performance at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships which was held near St. Louis, Missouri.

The Gustavus women’s hockey team suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 double-overtime loss to UW-Stevens Point in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night. The game was played at Roberts Ice Rink on the Gustavus campus.
