Men’s Track & Field Places First in the Pre-MIAC Meet at Carleton College

The Gustavus men’s track and field team scored 184 points in 17 events to place first out of six teams Friday night at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. Jack Henkemeyer finished in first place in the 55 and 200 meter dash to lead the Gusties.

The Gustavus men’s track and field team placed first out of six teams Friday night at the Pre-MIAC Meet in Northfield, Minn. The Gusties won eight of the 17 events to score 184 points. Bethel College finished second (122), Carleton finished third (111), Macalester finished fourth (74), St. Mary’s finished fifth (22), and St. Olaf finished sixth (8).

Jack Henkemeyer won the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.58 and the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.5. Matt Dierks finished in second place in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.80 and placed first in the long jump with a distance of 21′ 6″. Anthony Schulzetenberg won the 400 meter dash with a time 52.08. Tanner Miest finished first in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.11. Alex Kestly won the weight throw with a distance of 46′ 2″. Josh Sorenson finished in first place in the pole vault, 14′ 11.5″.

The Gustavus 800 meter relay team finished first with a time of 1:33.31 and the 4×400 meter relay placed second with a time of 3:33.56.

The men’s track team will to Collegeville, Minn. next week to compete in the St. John’s Invite.
