Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey player Abby Randall has been named MIAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 2-7. Randall, a sophomore defender from Minnetonka, Minn., scored one goal and contributed two assists to help the Gusties sweep third place St. Mary’s (4-1, 3-0) last weekend.

Randall scored a power-play goal and added an assist in Friday’s 4-1 win in Winona and then added an assist in the 3-0 win in St. Peter on Saturday. In addition to her offensive contribution, Randall anchored a defense that allowed only one goal and limited the Cardinals to just 20 shots on goal in the two games.

Randall has been the catalyst for a Gustavus defensive effort that has allowed opponents only two goals in the past eight conference games. The Gusties are currently 14-5-0 overall and 10-2-0 in the MIAC.

Abby is the daughter of Chris and Dan Randall of Tonka Bay, Minn.
