Jumior gymnast Amanda Parker has been named Division III Collegiate Gymnast of the Week by Inside Gymnastics magazine. Parker won the all-around title at the UW-La Crosse Invite last weekend with a school record score of 37.875.
Parker broke her own school record for highest all-around score of 37.80 which she set last year at the Best of Minnesota meet on February 3. In La Crosse, Parker won the floor exercise with a score of 9.725 and the balance beam with a score of 9.650. She finished third in the uneven bars (9.175) and fourth on the vault (9.325). Parker’s score of 9.725 on the floor exercise tied her own school record for best floor score which she set a year ago.
This is the second time this season that Parker has been honored by Inside Gymnastics magazine as Collegiate Gymnast of the week. She was previously honored in mid-January. She is currently ranked third in the all-around among Division III gymnasts with an average score of 37.13.
