Women’s Swimming Tops Carleton 167-133

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team defeated Carleton 167-133 at Thorpe Pool in Northfield on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties took top honors in seven of the 16 events in the meet.

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team defeated Carleton 167-133 at Thorpe Pool in Northfield on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties ended the Knights’ dual meet win streak at 17. The Knights won nine of the 17 events, but depth was the key for the Gusties as they claimed second and third place in eight of the nine races that Carleton took first place.

Eva Miller and Beth DeLaRosby were each double winners for Gustavus. Miller won the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke, while DeLaRosby won the 50 and 100 yard freestyle. Other individual winners for Gustavus included Angela Miller in the 1000 yard freestyle, Sarah Crane in the 200 yard butterfly, and Yoshi Ludwig in the 100 yard butterfly. The Gusties also won the 200 yard medley relay (Ann Marie Miller, Eva Miller, Katie Garvey, Laura Watkins) and the 400 yard freestyle relay (DeLaRosby, Watkins, Garvey and Jessica Coleman).
