Men’s Hockey Falls to Lake Forest 3-0

The Gustavus men’s hockey team lost to Lake Forest College 3-0 in a non-conference matchup at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minnesota on Saturday night. Gustavus falls to 2-4-0 on the season, while Lake Forest improves to 6-0-1.

The Gustavus men’s hockey team lost to Lake Forest College 3-0 in a non-conference matchup at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minnesota on Saturday night. Lake Forest scored a goal in each period on their way to the shutout victory. Gustavus falls to 2-4-0 on the season, while Lake Forest improves to 6-0-1.

The Foresters three goals were recorded by Cory Wilson (first period), Andrew Francone (second period) and Ryan Panet (third period). Gustavus outshot Lake Forest 31-25. Eleven penalities were whistled in the very physical contest with the Foresters receiving seven penalties for 17 minutes and the Gusties receiving four penalties for eight minutes.

Gustavus goaltender Fred Lewis suffered the loss while turning away 22 shots and allowing all three goals. Lake Forest goaltender Cody Brown picked up the win and the shutout while recording 31 saves.
