Women’s Soccer Ties St. Benedict 0-0 in Home Opener Posted on September 27th, 2003 by

The Gustavus women’s soccer team tied St. Benedict 0-0 in its home opener on Saturday in St. Peter.
Gustavus out-shot St. Benedict 6-4 on an extermely windy afternoon. Both teams struggled to generate many scoring opportunities in the 110 minutes of play.

Lindsay LaVoie went the distance in net for Gustavus. She recorded four saves. Tae Ruppe got the shutout in goal for the Blazers and had two saves.

Gustavus is now 10-1-2 in its last 13 home games. The Gusties have not lost a home opener since 1990.

The Gusties lead the all-time series with the Blazers 13-6-3 following Saturday’s scoreless draw.

Gustavus, now 3-3-1 on the year, hosts St. Mary’s on Wednesday in an MIAC matchup.
