The volleyball team fell to nationally ranked St. Thomas 3-0 in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. The Tommies improve to 13-1 overall and 4-0 in the MIAC, while Gustavus falls to 13-4 and 2-2.
St. Thomas took control of the match early by winning the first game 30-19 and the second game 30-23. The Gusties made it close in the third game but lost a heartbreaker 34-32.
Tara Houlihan led the Gusties with 14 kills and 15 digs. Rachel Batalden contributed 30 assists for Gustavus. Rachel Dosch led St. Thomas with 15 kills and 15 digs.
