The Gusties fired a first round total of 308 to tie for second place at the St. John’s Invitational which is being played at the Greystone Country Club in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. St. John’s leads the tournament at 294, while Gustavus and St. Thomas are tied at 308. The Gusties were led by senior Luke Benoit who shot a 73. Other scores included Neil Johnson with a 77, Brady Hoffman with a 77, Brent Borgstahl with an 81 and Chase Thonvold with an 85. The Gustavus Black team fired a total of 312. Individual scores included Tony Oberle (76), Josh Segal (76), Charlie Seitzer (78), Brian Zard (82), Nick Greve (85). The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday.
