Men’s Hockey Unveils 2003-04 Schedule Posted on July 23rd, 2003 by

The Gustavus men’s hockey program has announced its schedule for the 2003-04 season. Highlights of the upcoming year include the season opener at the College of St. Scholastica, the home opener versus St. Norbert College, and four games against NCAA Tournament qualifiers from a year ago.

Gustavus will begin the season with four straight games on the road, including the season opener at St. Scholastica on November 7. The Gusties open up their home schedule on November 21 versus non-conference foe St. Norbert, a national semi-finalist last winter. Gustavus also plays at NCAA qualifier UW-River Falls on November 26.

Coach Brett Petersen’s squad begins MIAC play at home against Augsburg on December 5 before facing the Auggies on the road the following day. The series with Augsburg is the only set of conference games for Gustavus before the winter break, a change from previous years in which the squad played as many as six conference games before January.

Gustavus travels to last year’s MIAC Tournament champion and NCAA Tournament qualifier St. John’s on January 9 and host the Johnnies on January 10. Last season St. John’s knocked the Gusties out of the MIAC Tournament in the semi-final round.
