The Gustavus baseball team rallied to score two runs with two outs in the top of the 13th inning to defeat Bethel 4-2 to salvage a series split with the Royals on Saturday. Bethel prevailed in the first game 3-0 as the Gusties managed just four hits. In game one, Brandon Knoll was the hard-luck pitcher in the loss, while Cody Sukalski worked 11 innings in a pitching gem in game two. Tory Herman pitched two scoreless innings in relief to record the second game win.
Men’s Tennis Goes 3-0 Against Morningside, Bethel, and St. Olaf
The Gustavus men's tennis team had a busy day on Saturday as it played two matches against Morningside and St. Olaf at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter and Bethel in St. Paul. The Gusties defeated Bethel and the Oles by identical 8-1 scores and Morningside 9-0. Gustavus improved to 11-3 overall and 4-0 in league play.
Men’s Basketball Falters Late In 87-72 Loss At Bethel
The Gustavus men's basketball team pulled to within three points with six minutes left in the game, but were unable to hit key baskets down the stretch as the Gusties fell 87-72 to Bethel on Wednesday night in Arden Hills. After a three-point play by Sam Paulson made the score 66-63, the Royals scored eight unanswered points over the next two minutes en route to the win. Gustavus was led by Jesse Van Sickle's career-high 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting.
Men’s Basketball Wins Fourth Straight Game After Defeating Bethel 65-50
The Gustavus men's basketball team executed a nearly flawless half-court offense to slow down the high-octane Bethel Royals in a 65-50 win on Wednesday night at Gus Young Court. The Gusties shot 55.1 percent from the floor on 27-for-49 shooting, while holding Bethel to its lowest point total of the season. Men’s Hockey Falls To Bethel 3-2 In Overtime
The Gustavus men's hockey team suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to Bethel when the Royals' Brad Peterson scored the game-winning goal :24 into the extra period on Saturday at Don Roberts Ice Rink. Gustavus held a 45-21 shots on goal advantage, but Bethel goaltender Aaron Damjanovich kept the Royals in the game by making 43 saves. The Gusties fell to 6-4-0 overall and 3-3-0 in league play, while Bethel moved to 6-4-1 overall and 3-3-0 in the MIAC.

Sandra Felten and Alyssa Gaulrapp both tallied goals in the first period for the only scoring in the game. The Gusties, who extended their current MIAC unbeaten streak to 29 games, moved to 5-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the conference. The Royals' record went to 3-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the league.

David Martinson scored a power play goal three minutes into overtime to give the Gustavus men's hockey team a 2-1 win over Bethel in Blaine on Friday. Head Coach Brett Petersen earned the 100th win of his career with the victory as the Gusties improved to 6-3-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the MIAC. The Royals dropped to 6-4-1 overall and 2-3-0 in the league standings.

Gustavus junior linebacker Tony Palma (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) has been named MIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his play against Bethel University last Saturday. Palma played a key role in the Gusties' defensive effort in a 17-10 win over the Royals in Arden Hills, Minn. as he tallied 12 tackles with six solo stops and an interception. His interception sealed the victory as he picked off a pass at the Gustavus seven-yard line with 00:48 remaining as Bethel threatened to tie the game.

The Gustavus football team extended its winning streak to four games after defeating Bethel University 17-10 in Arden Hills on Saturday afternoon.
