Shanna Dawson and Kaelene Lundstrum Set To Participate in NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships This Weekend
Senior Shanna Dawson and sophomore Kaelene Lundstrum have both qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships which will take place this Friday and Saturday at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Dawson qualified in the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, 11 3/4 inches, while Lundstrum qualified in the high jump at a height of 5 feet, 6 inches.
Kaelene Lundstrum Finishes 14th in High Jump at NCAA Championships
Kaelene Lundstrum, a sophomore from Bird Island, Minn., finished 14th in the high jump (5-3 1/4) at the NCAA Indoor Championships which are being held at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Lundstrum was one of 10 competitors that went out at 5-3 1/4, but finished 14th due to previous misses.
Women’s Track and Field Team in Fourth Place After First Day of MIAC Indoor Championships
The Gustavus women's indoor track and field team is in fourth place after the first full day of the MIAC Indoor Championships which are being held at Saint John's University. Kaelene Lundstrum picked up her second first place finish of the championships as she won the high jump with an effort of 5 feet, 3 inches. The conference meet will conclude on Saturday afternoon.

The Gustavus women's indoor track and field team is looking forward to the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships after spending the month of February participating in four meets in preparation for the conference meet. The meet begins with the heptathlon competition on Thursday and runs through Saturday afternoon at Saint John's University.
Kaelene Lundstrum Wins Pentathlon To Highlight Gusties First Day at MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships
Kaelene Lundstrum, a sophomore from Bird Island, Minnesota won the Pentathlon at the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a school and conference record total of 3,342 points on Thursday evening. The previous school record of 3,036 points was set in 1994 by Kristen Denato. The previous conference record was 3,317 points set by Ashley Dingles of Saint Mary's in 2005.
Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Teams Post 10 First Place Finishes at Carleton’s Pre-MIAC Meet
The Gustavus men's and women's indoor track and field teams set the pace at the Carleton Pre-MIAC meet with 10 first place finishes. Kaelene Lundstrum turned in the top performance of the night as she won the women's high jump with a leap of 5' 6" which set a new school record and a Carleton Fieldhouse record. Lundstrum's mark is the fourth best in Division III this season.
Women’s Indoor Track and Field Performs Well at University of Minnesota Parents’ Day Open
The Gustavus women's indoor track and field squad competed at the University of Minnesota Parents' Day Open on Saturday. The 800 meter relay team posted the top finish placing second in a time of 1:51.29, while Sari Lindeman finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 35' 6 3/4". No team scores were kept at the meet.

Janna Castellano Places 9th in Pole Vault at the NCAA Championships
Gustavus sophomore Janna Castellano tied for 9th place in the pole vault at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships taking place at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Castellano's vault of 11-10 1/2 breaks her own school record of 11-8 that she set two weeks ago at the MIAC Championships.
