Rachel Roberg Named MIAC Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus College senior Rachel Roberg (Rice Lake, Wis.) has been named the MIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week by the league coaches. Roberg shot 80-80 to finish in fourth place at the Wartburg Invitational at Centennial Golf Course, site of the 2008 NCAA Women's Golf Championships, in Waverly, Iowa on Sunday.

Women’s Golf Wins Wartburg Invitational

The Gustavus women's golf team kicked off its spring schedule with a first-place finish at the Wartburg Invitational at Centennial Golf Course, site of the 2008 NCAA Women's Golf Championships, in Waverly, Iowa on Sunday. The Gusties shot 319 on the second day of competition for a two-day total of 329-319--648, which was 18 strokes ahead of second-place finisher Illinois Wesleyan. Gustavus was led by Rachel Roberg, who finished fourth with a total of 80-80--160.

Women’s Golf Leads Field After First Day Of The Wartburg Invitational

The Gustavus women's golf team shot 329 to lead the field of eleven teams after the first day of the Wartburg Invitational at the par-72 Centennial Oaks Golf Course in Waverly, Iowa on Saturday. Wisconsin-Eau Claire finished the day at 335, six strokes behind the Gusties, while Illinois Wesleyan shot 337. Rachel Roberg, who is tied for second place individually, paced Gustavus with a score of 80.

Women’s Golf Competes At Ponte Vedra Beach

The Gustavus women's golf team shot a 332 at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club Ocean Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. in a dual meet against Division II Flagler College. Rachel Roberg (Sr., Rice Lake, Minn.) paced the Gusties at 79 on the par-72 course. Flagler had its two participants shoot an 84 and an 87.

Women’s Golf Slips To Third In Most Recent Division III National Poll

The National Golf Coaches Association released its Division III poll on Wednesday and the Gustavus women's golf team dropped to the #3 spot despite winning the Wartburg Invitational over the weekend. Gustavus finds itself behind #1 Methodist University and two votes behind #2 St. Thomas.

Women’s Golf Ranked Second in Most Recent Division III National Poll

The National Golf Coaches Association released its final Division III poll of the fall season and the Gustavus women's golf team remained in the #2 spot behind #1 Methodist University. The Gusties won three of the five tournaments they participated in this fall and finished second at the MIAC Championships.

Women’s Golf Remains in Second Place After Second Day of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team dropped two shots to defending champion on the second day of the MIAC Championships, but still remain very much in contention for the league title. The Gusties (326-318--644) trail the Tommies (322-316--638) by six shots heading into the final day. The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Monday at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

The Gustavus women's golf team finished second at the 2007 MIAC Championships which were held at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The Gusties fired a 54-hole total of 326-318-342--986 and finished 19 shots behind St. Thomas which recorded a score of 322-316-329-967. Gustavus was led by Rachel Roberg, who placed third with a total of 81-79-82--242.

The Gustavus women's golf team posted a team score of 326 and trails defending champion St. Thomas, which posted a score of 322, by four strokes heading into the second day of the three-day tournament.Rachel Roberg, Kali Griggs, and Katie Schenfeld all recorded rounds of 81 to lead Gustavus.

Women’s Golf Wins Riverport Inn Classic in Winona

The Gustavus women's golf team won its third consecutive tournament with a strong showing at the Express Suites Riverport Inn Classic hosted by Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. The Gusties posted a 36-hole total of 315-314--629 to finish five shots ahead of Division II Upper Iowa. Senior Rachel Roberg finished second individually with a 36-hole total of 74-77-151.
