The Gustavus men's soccer team opened the 2011 season with a 2-0 victory over Wartburg College on Thursday, Sept. 1. Junior Gabe Steinborn (Sioux Falls, S.D.) led the Gusties with two goals, while Jackson Zoellner tallied two assists.

Turnovers Prove Costly As Football Falls To Wartburg 27-6

The Gustavus Adolphus football team opened its 2010 season with a 27-6 loss at the hands of Wartburg College Saturday afternoon on Hollingsworth Field in St. Peter, Minn. Wartburg had 432 yards of total offense, compared to 239 for Gustavus. Wartburg linebacker Blake Suckow recorded a game-high 13 tackles (10 solo, 6 asst.). Gustavus falls to 0-1 on the season, while Wartburg improves to 2-0.
