Three Gusties Earn Men’s Soccer All-MIAC, Flintham Coach of the Year

Three Gustavus men’s soccer players were named MIAC All-Conference Friday morning, another four were tabbed honorable mention, and first-year coach Tudor Flintham was named Coach of the Year. Forwards Matt Gibbons (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) and Arthur Parens (Sr., Wayzata, Minn.), and midfielder Scott Heinen (So., Aurora, Ill.) represent Gustavus on the All-MIAC Team.

Men’s Soccer Blanks Martin Luther 4-0

Arthur Parens (Sr., Wayzata, Minn.) scored a hat trick Wednesday, guiding the Gustavus men’s soccer team to a 4-0 win over Martin Luther at the Gustavus reserve field. The shutout victory improves the Gusties to 2-0 early in the season, while the Knights fall to 0-3.

Tudor Flintham has been named the head men’s soccer coach at Gustavus Adolphus College, which was announced Monday by Athletics Director Tom Brown. Flintham most recently completed his third season as the head men’s and women’s soccer coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
