Volleyball Keeps On Winning After Defeating St. Scholastica 3-0 And Northwestern 3-1

After playing eight consecutive home games, the 22nd-ranked Gustavus volleyball team continued its winning ways with victories on the road over St. Scholastica 3-0 (25-19, 30-28, 25-15) and Northwestern 3-1 (16-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-19) in St. Paul on Saturday. Angela Ahrendt (Fy., Shoreview, Minn.), Janey Helland (So., Mapleton, Minn.), and Olivia Warren (Fy., Goodhue, Minn.) led a balanced offensive attack as they combined to finish with over 20 kills each in both contests.

Men’s Hockey Breaks Out of Scoring Slump With 8-3 Win at St. Scholastica, Welch Scores Hat Trick

The Gustavus men's hockey team broke out of its three game scoring slump by exploding for eight goals in a convincing 8-3 win over Saint Scholastica in Duluth on Friday night. The Gusties led 2-1 after the first period, but a four-goal second period broke the game open and the squad cruised to an 8-3 win. Joe Welch recorded his first career hat trick to lead Gustavus.

Gustavus Splits Day Two of Gustavus Classic, finishes 2-2 for the Tournament

The Gustavus volleyball team split matches on the last day of the Gustavus Classic defeating St. Scholastica 3-0 before falling to Viterbo 3-1. Gustavus finished the weekend with a 2-2 record and a 6-2 record overall. Seniors Jen Thelemann and Andrea Kron again paced the Gusties with 32 kills and 23 kills, respectively. Kron was named to the eight-member all-tournament team.

Baseball Drops Pair to St. Scholastica 13-1, 7-0

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team stepped out of league play Sunday, falling to College of St. Scholastica 13-1 and 7-0 at Wade Stadium in Duluth. Tyler Kaus, Shea Roehrkasse, and Nate Ruff each picked up two hits on the day. Gustavus returns to MIAC action Tuesday, April 24 at Macalester.

Women’s Basketball Rebounds With 73-60 Win Over St. Scholastica

Led by junior post player Bri Monahan, who picked up game-highs in points (27) and rebounds (11), the Gustavus women's basketball team defeated College of St. Scholastica 73-60 in the third place game of the UW-Eau Claire Thanksgiving Showcase. Gustavus improves to 2-1 on the season while the Saints fall to 1-3. The Gusties will open MIAC play with home games against Hamline on Wednesday and Concordia on Saturday.

Men’s Hockey Holds On For 7-6 Win Over St. Scholastica

The Gustavus men's hockey team jumped out to a 7-2 lead after two periods, but needed to fend off a late rally to beat the College of St. Scholastica, 7-6, in Duluth on Friday night to continue their best start since the 1991-92 season. Sophomore Sami Idris (Gothenberg, SWE) led the Gusties with a pair of goals and an assist. Gustavus improves to 3-0-0 on the season and will make the short trip to Superior, Wisconsin to face UW-Superior on Saturday evening.
