Men’s Nordic Skiing Posts Sixth Place Finish at CCSA Regional Championships
The Gustavus men's Nordic ski team closed out its 2006 season with a sixth-place team finish at the Central Collegiate Ski Association Regional Championships last weekend (Feb. 17-18) hosted by Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Mich. The Gusties (79 points overall) finished sixth in both the classic (41 points) and freestyle (38 points) disciplines.
Women’s Nordic Ski Team Posts Strong Team Finish at Telemark
Senior Chandra Daw and sophomore Laura Edlund each registered a pair of top-30 finishes to lead the Gustavus women's Nordic ski team to a third-place team finish at the NorAm SuperTour stop at Telemark Resort in Cable, Wis. last weekend. The event served as the third of five Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) qualifiers for the NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo. in March.
Nordic Skiing Opens Season at U.S. Nationals
The Gustavus nordic skiing teams opened their 2006 seasons at the United States Ski Association (USSA) United States Cross Country National Championships at Soldier Hollow Ski Area near Salt Lake City, Utah. The U.S. Nationals serves as the first of five Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) qualifiers for the 2006 NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships.
