The Gustavus men's hockey team had set a goal to win the MIAC Regular Season Title at the start of the season and the team reached part of that goal on Friday when it defeated Saint Mary's 5-1 and Hamline tied Concordia 2-2. The Gusties are now assured of at least a share of this year's crown. A win or a tie on Saturday night will give the Gusties the title outright, the first for the program since 1993.

The Gusties defeated UW-Whitewater, University of Sioux Falls, Saint John's and Saint Mary's by identical 9-0 scores to improve to 16-4 overall and remain perfect in conference play at 6-0. Gustavus returns to action on Monday, March 23 against Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont, Calif. as the Gusties will play four matches in California in four days.
As the Gustavus men's basketball team clung to a three-point lead with less than a minute to play, the Gusties went 6-for-6 from the free throw line to hang on for a 66-59 win over Saint Mary's on Wednesday at Gus Young Court. Gustavus shot 53.5 percent from the field on 23-for-43 shooting and held the Cardinals to 31.7 percent (20-for-63), including 2-for-19 from three-point range.
