Women’s Tennis Defeats Saint Ben’s 9-0
The Gustavus women's tennis team got its second MIAC victory of the weekend with a 9-0 win over Saint Ben's on Sunday afternoon at Gold's Gym in Sartell, Minn. The Gusties swept both the singles and doubles competition for the second time this weekend, improving their MIAC record to 9-0 and overall record to 28-10.
Women’s Indoor Track & Field Takes First At CSB Quad
The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team compiled 166.5 points to take first place at the College of Saint Benedict Quadrangular held Saturday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. Kaelene Lundstrum was the top Gustavus performer at the meet, winning the 55-meter hurdles (8.98) and high jump (5’ 3”), while taking fifth in the shot put (38’ 9.75”).
Women’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Second At CSB/SJU Invitational
The Gustavus women's swimming and diving team took second place (692 pts) at the CSB/SJU Invitational on Saturday in Collegeville, Minn. Carrie Gundersen was the top Gustavus swimmer with wins in both the 200 (1:59.66) and 500 free (5:16.98) and a third place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:18.75). St. Cloud State University won the meet with 835 points.
Women’s Basketball Falls to Saint Ben’s 70-60; Blazers Capture Outright MIAC Title
The Gustavus women's basketball team saw an opportunity at a shared Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title slip away Saturday afternoon with a 70-60 home loss to the College of Saint Benedict. Junior post Bri Monahan led all players with 27 points, but the Blazers had four players in double-figures including Anna Heikenen with 17. Saint Ben's moves to 21-4 overall and finishes 17-3 in the MIAC. The Gusties drop to 18-6 overall, 15-5 in the MIAC.
