Kopp Claims NCGA Floor Championship With Program Record 9.85
After becoming an All-American in the all-around Friday at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships, Alex Kopp (Jr., Wayzata, Minn.) continued to impress Saturday during the individual events. Kopp tied for first on the floor with a program record 9.850, claiming the 32nd national event title in program history. Kopp is the first Gustie to win a national event since Alyssa Cox won the vault in 2003, and first to win the floor (eighth overall) since Molly Nemes in 2001.
Gymnastics Hosts UW-Eau Claire Tonight In Final Home Meet
The Gustavus gymnastics team is set to host the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 6:30 p.m. tonight in a WIAC dual meet. The Gusties are 2-4 in duals this season, while the Blugolds are 2-0.
2016 Gymnastics Season Preview
It is the beginning of a new season and with the fresh start the Gustavus gymnastics team has its eyes set on making big strides forward. The Gusties know they can’t affect the scoring of their opponents in a competitive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, so they plan on keeping the focus on themselves to improve every day.
